PADI IDC Indonesia Eco friendly Program | IDC Gili Islands with Platinum CD Holly Macleod

Are you looking to take your PADI Instructor Development Course? Why not consider the environment impact of it?

During the Gili IDC Indonesia Program we have tried to develop a course that has minimal impact on the environment and allow new PADI Instructors the opportunity to directly offset their carbon footprint without in anyway compromising the extremely high quality of training offered by renowned Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod.

Firstly we have integrated the latest PADI IDC Indonesia Project AWARE presentation into the program offering candidates the chance to learn more about Project Aware and their achievements and therefore allowing them to go off into their career whilst also acting as chief ambassadors for the foundation.

Trawangan Dive was the first ever five star Career Development Center (CDC) in the Gili Islands and therefore provides the ultimate in educational training for future Instructors. The Center is also a Coral Conservation Center and runs a range of environment projects including Biorock Indonesia, Coral Conservation, Coral Gardening and reef maintenance programs. Both Divemasters and IDC candidates are always encouraged to join in and help preserve the coral structure in and around the Gili Islands and for Instructor Candidates this would usually need to happen either before or after they take the Instructor Training Program. The Dive Center also conducts weekly beach clean-up operations which usually take place on Friday. Again Instructor candidates are always welcome to join our weekly clean up’s.

The first thing people notice when they arrive in Gili Trawangan that there are no motorized vehicles and the main forms of transport are the bicycle and the horse & cart. Many IDC Center will rely on cars or trucks to transport students between the Dive Center and the boat. Our Dive Center is situated directly on the best stretch of beach in Gili Trawangan and the boat leave directly from there. Dive training sites around are literally a stone’s throw away and they can be reached in a couple of minutes. Apart from the obvious environmental benefits of this it also minimized time spent between training sessions and therefore maximizes time spent in the classroom.

So when it comes down to offsetting your environmental carbon footprint whilst also receiving the best possible Instructor training the PADI IDC Indonesia Eco Center is the perfect place to do it.

Courses run once a month at Trawangan Dive, the first ever 5 Star PADI Career Development Center (CDC) in the Gili Islands. All of our Instructor level programs are conducted by renowned Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod.
